Iginla, who eclipsed his Hall of Fame father in the process (Jarome went 11th overall to Dallas in 1995), was the first prospect to officially don the ‘rock-black’ Utah sweater when his name was called at The Sphere in late June. From there, he headlined the franchise’s first rookie camp in Salt Lake City, where the sharp-shooting center got a sense of what the organization is all about. “It was unreal,” Iginla said. “Just going in there, it was so professional, and they held such a high standard.
