> EVERY GOOD TEAM needs a “fixer,” someone who can play with any of the squad’s players and help bring out the best in them while also contributing himself. Someone who can help a struggling player end a slump, keep up with the stars or propel his own unit lower in the lineup. For USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program’s U-18 team last season, that player was Teddy Stiga. The 5-foot-10 winger was consistently able to play up and down the lineup and excel in whatever role was asked of him. Whether he was playing with James Hagens – the projected No. 1 pick in 2025 – or Cole Eiserman – a 2024 New York Islanders first-rounder – or driving his own line, Stiga always made it work.
