THERE’S AN ADAGE THAT says if you look good, you’ll feel good, and then you’ll play good. If that’s true, Joonas Korpisalo is positioned to have a superb first campaign with the Boston Bruins. Designed and painted by Sylabrush’s Sylvie Marsolais, Korpisalo’s latest lid retains some design staples from last season’s Senators mask, most notably the golden glitter effect and chrome cage. Replacing the Ottawa motif, however, is a growling and glowing-eyed bear atop the crown of the mask. But what really sets this mask apart is the attention to detail. The yellow piping across the jawline and his nickname – ‘Korpi’ – on the chin appear standard fare at first blush.
