Maureen Murphy was one of the PWHL’s leading scorers last season and – along with her dog, Bean – she also made time for the community in Montreal. Meanwhile, on the side, she’s pursuing her law degree

SOMEDAY, WHEN MAUREEN Murphy looks back on her career, she’ll remember the inaugural PWHL season. She’ll recall the sold-out arenas and her first professional goal playing for Montreal. She will also see her positive impact on the city and the good she accomplished off the ice. As a 24-year-old rookie in a new country and city, Murphy was the PWHL’s first recipient of the Hockey For All Award, given to the player in the league with the greatest community impact. “Maureen has been an incredible addition to our team,” said Victoire coach Kori Cheverie. “It’s inspiring to see how she’s fully embraced both our team and our community.
