YOU COULD CALL IT the Plight of the Youngest Sibling. It’s the basic tenet that in any hockey-loving household with multiple puck-obsessed kids, there will always be a pecking order. And what those knee-high to their elders learn quickly is that in the inevitable scramble to pick positions, the youngest usually gets saddled with goaltending duty. It doesn’t matter if it’s ball hockey or shuffling around with mini-sticks. Rules are rules, and Zeev Buium understands this. Before he was dazzling at the University of Denver, a standout for USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program or even turning heads at Shattuck-St. Mary’s, Buium was a shot-stopper.
