AFTER A REMARKABLE 100-point performance and a playoff berth in their second year of existence, the Kraken went backward this season, finishing in the bottom third of the league. They’ll be starting anew in Year 4 with a fresh voice behind the bench after the team dismissed coach Dave Hakstol in late April.
IMMEDIATE NEEDS: The Kraken need more youth and speed. Seattle had 11 regulars on the wrong side of 30 in the lineup, plus another two who were 29. Seattle was the third-oldest team in the league behind Pittsburgh and Edmonton.
