Once again, the Canes fell short of expectations in the playoffs, and while their style of play may have been a culprit, the goaltending didn’t help. Frederik Andersen finished the post-season with an .895 SP, and it feels like his ceiling has long been established. The time is right for PYOTR KOCHETKOV to take over. While the affable 24-year-old had his own ups and downs, he has the highest ceiling. If Carolina doesn’t want to miss its Cup window, Kochetkov will get more than the 40 starts he made this season. When ADAM BOQVIST was drafted by Chicago, he was seen as the prototypical modern-day NHL blueliner: a great skater with poise, vision and dynamic puck skills.
