ONE OF THE UNDERRATED aspects of having both men’s and women’s hockey at your NCAA school is the option for two completely different uniforms. The St. Lawrence Saints women, for example, have an awesome look that features an interlocked, baseball-style ‘SLU’ within a big crest on the front of their jersey. The men also use the ‘SLU’ on one of their sweaters, but without the shield behind it. It’s a little surprising we don’t see more interlocking letters in hockey, because it’s really effective. With St. Lawrence, they’ve kept the shoulders classic and the striping simple on the arms, keeping the focus on the main crest. And isn’t that what hockey is all about, the logo on the front and not the name on the back?…
