NHL VALUATIONS $900M FORBES $1.06B SPORTICO $1.25B ROUSTAN OWNERSHIP HASSO Plattner HASSO PLATTNER, WHO co-founded business software giant SAP in 1972, was part of a group that purchased the Sharks from the original owner, George Gund III, in 2002. Plattner then purchased majority ownership in 2010 and is now the team’s sole owner. Per Bloomberg, he remains a major shareholder of SAP – a corporate partner of the NHL – which had $32.5 billion in revenues in 2022. He has been chairman of SAP’s supervisory board since May 2003, but his current term in the position expires in 2024. Bloomberg listed Plattner’s worth at $18.1 billion as of early December – a significant increase from a reported $12.7 billion in mid-November of last year.
