HENRY, the founder and principal owner of Fenway Sports Group, doesn’t have a face or a name that has much, if any, recognition in Pittsburgh, even though FSG has owned the Penguins since December 2021. Henry rarely speaks publicly. When anyone in the Penguins organization refers to the ownership, it’s virtually always FSG, not Henry himself. In fact, FSG executive Dave Beeston, who serves as the Penguins’ alternate governor, has really been the only public face of the ownership group, and then only rarely. Henry, 74, gained his wealth through John W. Henry & Company Inc., marketing his commodities futures trading management strategy.
