Justin Gill brings plenty of experience to a hungry Drakkar squad on the rise

IT’S A FINE LINE between raw rookie and seasoned veteran in major junior. One day, you’re the former. The next day, you wake up to find yourself among the latter. In the blink of an eye, this transformation occurred for St-Joseph-du-Lac, Que., native Justin Gill. After three seasons as a depth center for the Charlottetown Islanders and Sherbrooke Phoenix, Gill had the opportunity to take a big step in his development. The Phoenix, fresh off a QMJHL semifinal appearance in 2022, experienced a significant turnover in top-line talent. Gill was placed on the potent club’s top line with reigning league scoring champ and Montreal prospect Joshua Roy. Gill’s response was a 93-point campaign and another semifinal berth for Sherbrooke.
