PREDICTION | 7TH IN PACIFIC CLUES THAT THINGS WERE not going to go well for the Ducks in 2022-23 surfaced early – in their second home pre-season game – when defenseman Urho Vaakanainen went hard into the end boards and had to be stretchered off the ice. Those signs turned into extended issues when the Ducks opened the season 1-6-1 and didn’t win a game in regulation until Nov. 23. Misery remained a season-long theme, as the Ducks finished with the worst record in the league.
