THE ONLY TWO WORDS that can cause hockey people to drop their gloves faster than “Let’s Go” is when one is called out for being “politically correct.” Some believe that being politically correct is a sign of weakness and a negative trait in a person. Others believe that being politically correct is the appropriate first step towards an individual’s intellectual growth, a sign of strength that brings awareness of others into one’s consideration, which in turn fosters a better society for all. But let’s face it, the majority of the time when used, it is not meant as a compliment. The game of hockey, from its inception, has been filled with fights both on and off the ice.
