A GREGARIOUS CHARACTER and true NHL heavyweight, Edmonton Oilers tough guy Georges Laraque was at the height of his power when profiled by contributing editor Mark Brender. Ever the personable pugilist, Laraque opened up about life away from the rink, where he was far more likely to bust a gut than bloody his knuckles. But what made headlines was Brender’s exclusive chat with disbarred lawyer and disgraced former NHLPA head Alan Eagleson – backdropped by the 30th anniversary of the 1972 Summit Series (the celebration was set to happen without Eagleson, who wasn’t invited).
