COME ON, NOW, THIS is just a monster of a cover. That’s a big bear, and the Boston Bruins were indeed a scary outfit back in 1958-59, but could they dethrone the mighty Canadiens, one year after losing to Montreal in the Stanley Cup final? Led by the likes of Don McKenney, Vic Stasiuk and Johnny Bucyk up front, the Bruins ended up finishing second to Montreal in the regular season before getting upset in the first round by Toronto. The Canadiens won the Stanley Cup again, so perhaps that cartoon bear – as ferocious as it looked – ended up stuffed in someone’s cabin. One of the reasons Montreal was so good?
