ONE SEASON AFTER BRETT joined his father, Bobby, in the 50-goal club – making the Hulls the only father-son duo to each record 50-goal seasons in the NHL – the ‘Golden Brett’ and ‘Golden Jet’ also became the only father-son Hart Trophy winners. And in The Hockey News’ 1991 Awards Review issue, it was the senior Hull who took on the task of profiling his son and MVP heir. In retrospect, though, it’s the headline above the masthead that most makes this an issue worth revisiting. It was no secret that coveted prospect Eric Lindros, the consensus No. 1 pick, had no intention of playing for the Quebec Nordiques, but the franchise proceeded to use the top selection on him anyway.
