BRINGING TWO OF hockey’s most exciting talents together seems like a no-brainer now, but there were questions about how Pavel Bure and Alexander Mogilny would fare as teammates in Vancouver. The Canucks acquired Mogilny from the Buffalo Sabres for Michael Peca, Mike Wilson and a first-round pick they’d use to take Jay McKee (a decent return, in retrospect) after the Russian winger wore out his welcome in Buffalo. Mogilny, 26, and Bure, 24, were seen as moody and enigmatic – so there was risk, despite their prodigious skill. Canucks GM Pat Quinn acknowledged that in the cover story, but Mogilny was excited about rejoining his former national-team linemate. “I don’t think scoring 76 goals again is out of the question,” Mogilny said. “You never know, playing with Pavel, I could score…
