SURE, THE POPULAR primetime soap opera Dallas had gone off the air two years prior, but J.R. in a cowboy hat? Sure, let’s do it. Jeremy Roenick was one of the NHL’s biggest personalities in the 1990s, and made a number of THN cover appearances. In this case, he was representing the All-Star Game, and in a sign history repeats itself, one column (by Eric Duhatschek) was about how the mid-season classic needed to change. ‘The Hat’ had a couple suggestions, including eliminating the rule that every team had to be represented, going North America vs. Europe (which the NHL did five years later) and including defensive stars like Derian Hatcher or Joel Otto.
