A perfect time to observe Saturn, Jupiter and the Galilean moons

ALL MONTH Noctilucent clouds possible 1 JULY Pluto 41 arcminutes from Jupiter 5 JULY Evening full Moon close to Jupiter and Saturn 14 JULY Jupiter reaches opposition 20 JULY Saturn reaches opposition July at a glance As darkness falls, bright orange supergiant Antares (Alpha (α) Scorpii) appears low towards the west of south. To its north lies the large ill-defined form of Ophiuchus the Serpent Bearer, often likened to an inverted flower-pot. It contains a number of interesting deep-sky objects, including globular clusters M9, M10, M12, M14, M19 and M107. It also contains the lovely open cluster IC 4665 near Cebalrai (Beta (β) Ophiuchi).
