Many moons are visible using small telescopes. How many of them can you record?

Most are too faint for amateur equipment and the ones that are visible range from easy through to extremely difficult. Here we’re asking you to observe and record as many as possible, either visually or by imaging. There are plenty of apps and planetarium programs which show the position of many of the moons mentioned here. A free example is Cartes du Ciel (www.ap-i.net/skychart/en/start). For moons which orbit close to their planet, choose a date and time when they appear close to elongation – furthest from the planet.
