Winston Oh describes what makes an interior scene worthy of capturing in paint

Interior scenes are a departure from my conventional repertoire. When I look back over the decades, I can easily remember the several interior subjects that I enjoyed doing. I have a distinct memory of them and where they were done. Clearly, they must have left a significant impression. In this article I want to analyse a selection of them, and try to explain what made them attractive subjects to paint, and any common characteristics that might tempt and encourage others to enjoy painting interiors – in watercolour in this instance. My first observation is light.
