DIY Croutons

Set aside those ordinary plain crackers! Instead, sprinkle seasoned croutons over your kettle creations.

To bake the croutons below, arrange the seasoned bread cubes in a single layer in a baking pan. Preheat oven to 375°; bake for 14-18 minutes or until golden brown, turning occasionally. Each variation makes 7½ cups. Garlic Croutons Combine 3 Tbsp. olive oil and 4 minced garlic cloves on a baking sheet. Bake until garlic is lightly browned, about 3 minutes. Toss with 8 cups cubed bread. Smoky Cornbread Croutons Combine ¼ cup olive oil, 1 tsp. cumin, 1 tsp. smoked paprika and 1 tsp. garlic salt. Place 8 cups day old cubed cornbread in a bowl. Drizzle with oil mixture; toss lightly. Pesto Croutons Combine 2 Tbsp. olive oil and ¼ cup prepared pesto. Place 8 cups cubed focaccia in a bowl. Drizzle with pesto mixture; toss.
