Il viaggio della barca di Ra

IL TEMPIO DI ESNA presenta un magnifico soffitto astronomico, che raffigura il viaggio della barca del dio solare Ra attraverso il cielo. Nella scena riprodotta in questa pagina vediamo il sole sotto forma di scarabeo stercorario (Khepri) 1, che spinge Ra, il sole, alla nascita. Ra si trova all’interno del disco solare 2 e ha le sembianze di un bambino, con un codino laterale e il dito in bocca. Ai lati ci sono le due dee protettrici Netti 3 e Iside 4. Al seguito si possono vedere altre divinità come il dio-falco Horus, che governa il timone della barca 5, Thot, il dio della saggezza 6, e Maat, dea della giustizia e dell’ordine cosmico 7.…
