I CRONISTI della fine del XV secolo lodarono in modo unanime la bellezza fisica della regina. Hernando del Pulgar, per esempio, la descrisse così: «Di statura normale e bella postura. La pelle bianca e la chioma bionda, gli occhi tra il verde e l'azzurro, il viso bello e allegro, l'aspetto grazioso e onesto, i lineamenti equilibrati». I ritratti della regina eseguiti in quegli anni la raffigurano tutti con tratti delicati. Nella maturità mantenne il suo portamento dimostrando sempre meno anni di quelli che aveva in realtà, come osservò il viaggiatore tedesco Hieronymus Münzer: «La regina ha 48 anni, ma non ne dimostra più di 36; è di statura alta, in carne e con un viso gradevole».…
