Un cantiere a Pompei

A lcune nuove scoperte gettano luce sulle tecniche costruttive romane

■ ATTUALITÀ ANTICA ROMA Nel tragico giorno del 79 d.C. in cui il Vesuvio eruttò, un intero isolato della regioIX di Pompei era in ristrutturazione: molte abitazioni erano state danneggiate da un terremoto avvenuto nel 62 d.C. Gli archeologi hanno trovato prove degli interventi di restauro soprattutto nella casa con panificio di Rustio Vero, dov’è stata recentemente scoperta una singolare natura morta con un elemento che ricorda una pizza. Nella struttura sono stati rinvenuti utensili, tegole, calce e mattoni di tufo. Inoltre, in un edificio adiacente sono venuti alla luce pesi di piombo per consolidare i muri nonché pale e anfore contenenti la calce utilizzata per ricoprire le pareti.
