CRONOLOGIA 1194 Federico Hohenstaufen nasce a Jesi da Costanza d’Altavilla, figlia del re di Sicilia, e dall’imperatore Enrico VI. 1198 Federico viene incoronato re di Sicilia, ereditando il regno dalla madre in assenza di eredi maschi nella dinastia normanna. 1220 Dopo una lunga lotta per il Sacro romano impero Federico viene incoronato imperatore da papa Onorio III a Roma. 1224 800 anni fa con una lettera circolare l’imperatore fonda l’Università di Napoli, tra le più antiche al mondo. 1228-1229 Federico guida la sesta crociata, in cui ricorre alla diplomazia più che alla convenzionale forza militare. 1250 Federico II muore a Castel Fiorentino, in Sicilia. La causa del decesso rimane incerta, ma si presume che fu per malattia.…
