1511 Vasari nasce ad Arezzo il 30 luglio. Il padre, data l'inclinazione artistica del figlio, lo manda a bottega da Guillaume de Marcillat. 1550 Le Vite, dedicate a Cosimo I de’ Medici, sono pubblicate dall'editore Torrentino. Michelangelo è l'unico artista vivente attivo presente nell'opera. 1560 Cosimo I affida a Vasari il progetto del palazzo degli Uffizi, un edificio destinato a ospitare tutti gli uffici amministrativi della città. 1568 Una nuova edizione rivista e aggiornata delle Vite viene pubblicata dall'editore fiorentino Giunti. Vi compaiono vari artisti contemporanei e le vite di alcune donne. 1574 Muore a Firenze il 27 giugno e il corpo è trasportato ad Arezzo. Federico Zuccari completa al posto suo i lavori della cupola di Santa Maria del Fiore.…
