Staying the Course

Tucson prosecutor Mack Wilson is finally finding her stride. With a new girlfriend, Beth Shankar, and her best friend Jess Lafayette back in the Homicide unit, life seems to be settling down. But peace is short-lived as Mack is thrust into a brutal murder investigation amid the chaos of the District Attorney's reelection campaign.

The victim, Amanda Wagner, is pregnant, and Mack quickly identifies two main suspects--both men Amanda was seeing, listed in her phone under pseudonyms. As Mack races to uncover the truth, she faces another daunting challenge: prosecuting Liam Ferguson, accused of years of sexual abuse against his daughter Daisy and the murder of their child. With Ferguson representing himself, the pressure to secure justice for Daisy intensifies.

Amidst these high-stakes cases, Mack's estranged father, Marcus, suddenly reappears in her life, forcing her to confront their fractured relationship. As Mack navigates the delicate balance between family, love, and her demanding career, she must decide what truly matters to her.
