“D octor Crusher to the fencing room. Medical emergency!”
Picard knelt beside the shuddering form of Guinan, prying the foil from her vice-like grip. In all his years of knowing the El-Aurian, he had never seen her stumble, let alone collapse as she just had. Something was very wrong here, and as if to reinforce his fears, the Enterprise lurched violently, knocking him off-balance as the airy room was bathed in a scarlet glow.
“All hands, red alert. Captain Picard to the bridge.”
Guinan's convulsions increased, her eyes wide and white in the back of her head.
“Number one, report.”
“It's best you see for yourself, Captain. It's a little hard to describe.”
