Not every wannabe deity turns out to be Q or Charlie X. Some of the powerful entities encountered by Starfleet love to play god, but tend to reveal fatal flaws that keep 'em stranded, imprisoned or vulnerable to Kirk attack! Or, conversely, some are genuinely so powerful that biped humanoids are nothing but something to study or play with.
