Sharing the truth can be scary and it’s often easier to pretend you’re OK rather than getting down to any emotional nitty gritty. This was recently highlighted by a study from Santander which revealed that nearly two thirds (64 per cent) of adults have said they were fine, instead of sharing mental health struggles. The findings of the research indicated that almost four in 10 people worried the person asking the question was merely making small talk and wasn’t interested in the truth.
