Growing up in Ireland, you must have been surrounded by the magic, mystery and myth of the place… I would love to say I was in touch and in tune with the mystics of the land. I grew up close to the Hill of Tara. Now I’d go there for cacao ceremonies. Newgrange is close by, too. But honestly, it was Catholicism we were surrounded by, and I think there was a downplaying of anything that felt a little bit more magical. My mum, even though she was brought up as a Catholic, would always talk about things being ‘fated’ with a sense of us being part of a much bigger system, which I think is not quite in line with Catholicism.
