I had the privilege of sitting in ceremony with Mayan people, took part in traditional ceremonies in the jungles, and swam in the crystalline waters of the cenotes. The truth is, the stones called me there long before the trip was booked. The lands and the waters had messages for me. Animals hold a very special place in Mayan culture as powerful totems, and the spirit of the jaguar was very present in my dreams some time before I bought my plane ticket.
