Disillusioned by the fashion industry, Alana Redick’s business plan struck her while halfway across the world

My dreams came true when I got my first job at a well-known luxury fashion HQ,’ says Alana. ‘It was exciting, yet it wasn’t fulfilling me. The trends became more and more disposable, and suppliers often confided in me about our costs being too low for them or our timescale too tight. ‘Deep down, I knew I couldn’t turn a blind eye to the injustices of the fashion industry I was complicit in. So, I quit.’ Travel was Alana’s answer and in India, she found what she was looking for.
