Su amigo Howard Hughes le sola decir que fama y amor eran incompatibles y sus tres maridos, Mikey Rooney, Artie Shaw y ahora Frank Sinatra, lo confirmaban. Eran sus tres grandes fracasos. Solo deseaba olvidar.

It was the spring of 1953, and everything led to believe the worst of the postwar era was over. At Barajas Airport, a crowd had gathered to receive the most admired film star of the time: Ava Gardner. She had come to Madrid after the long shoot of Mogambo, under John Ford.

She needed to find herself. Her friend Howard Hughes used to say that fame and love were incompatible, and her three husbands, Mikey Rooney, Artie Shaw, and now Frank Sinatra, confirmed it. They were her three big flops. She only wished to forget.

One evening, Luis Miguel Domingun, the matador of the hour, crosses her path. Their eyes met, and at that moment, they knew they would be together. They were both famous, good looking, young, and, above all, ardent and free. So was their story.
