I wanted a book I could read easily with my elementary-aged, Spanish beginner students and this collection of classic fairy and "fractured" fairy tales is the result. 15 total stories/chapters. 102 pages. 200 new words, 250 cognates in the whole book. Many fewer new words per story, each of which can be read on its own. There is considerable language overlap among all 15 stories and especially between each of the three versions of the same fairy tale. There are 5 main fairy tales: 1) Three Billy Goats Gruff, 2) Goldilocks, 3) Little Red Riding Hood, 4) The Three Little Pigs, 5) Jack and the Beanstalk. There are 3 versions of each classic fairy tale: 1) The popularly known story, 2) The story retold from a character's point of view and either arguing for his/her innocence or making a confession, 3) The story of what happened next, after the events of the popularly known story.
