Mr. Monismith., that man back there is alive! Early in my teaching career an experienced teacher told me that if you could "save" just one student for every year you taught, you would have done your job. I found that to be a profound statement. As I think back on my forty years, I honestly feel that I had a positive impact on at least one student per year. I guess that you could say "mission accomplished."
