I can only speak about the things that I've seen with my own eyes, heard with my own ears, and lived through my own experiences. Sistah Sistah, Oh My Sistah is a book of non-fiction short stories, poetry, praise poems, and memoirs; all put together to tell one truth. I wrote this to help me understand what was going on at different times in my life. After going back through years of memories, my thoughts began to come out of my head and found their way onto paper. I then saw a stage production: Sistah Sistah Sistah, Oh My Sistah, that would capture the voices of all my sistahs. In other words, to any sistah, I feel you. And as I write of our falls, our victories, our wrongdoings, and our aha moments, as Oprah would say, "I can only tell my truth so that I may, you may, we may be set free." Nevertheless, this is my story and I'm sticking to it.
