"Daddy" Paul Vinson

I want to tell you about one of the finest Christian men ever associated with Gospel music. His name is Paul Vinson, but his friends and family knew him as “Daddy Paul.” He was my grandfather, my best buddy, and my hero. Daddy Paul was a “once-in-a-lifetime” personality; always the life of the party when he walked into a room. He loved giving people a good laugh or a smile. He served our country in the Marines, and was a medic in the Korean War. When he returned home from Korea, he started working as an engineer for the Illinois Central Railroad, from which he later retired.
