Sometimes, we use words to share and sometimes, we use words to hide behind. When we hide behind words, we shroud ourselves in words like, "I'm fine," "Things are good," "I am not upset," and "No, nothing is wrong." We use these shrouds to hide our true selves and feelings, sometimes to hide, sometimes to protect, and sometimes to avoid.
In this collection, the award-winning author has decided to remove some of her shrouds and share her thoughts, hopes, dreams, and the glimpses she gets from those around her. It is her desire to provide readers with a glimpse of who she is, what she thinks, and what she wants for herself and those around her.
Through this collection, she hopes to encourage others to remove some of the shrouds they might be hiding behind. Shrouded in Words topics include community, family, parenthood, love, reflection, faith, and more.
Patricia's first book, Moms In The Military Raising A Child While Serving in The Armed Forces, provides a glimpse into some of the women in the Armed Forces who are tacking the responsibilities of motherhood and the obligation of service; and was awarded the 2023 Military Writers Society of America's Silver Medal.
