Returning from their honeymoon sick every morning, Terry helps Pam realize she might have the nine-month flu. Tom and Pam are ecstatic when a pregnancy test confirms their suspicions. At the next Sunday family dinner, Pam's father wants to sign all of the tennis players up for the next National Amateur Tournament. Pam makes the announcement of her coming motherhood and the end of her tennis career. Mr. Fletcher sarcastically suggests an abortion to take care of her problem. He then laughs it off saying he's only joking.
The next week while in her office practicing before school, Terry is surprised by two men barging into her office yelling, "Are you Masters?" When she says yes, they pull their guns out and tell her they are taking her for an abortion. She manages to throw them off balance enough that one shoots his partner in the leg who then in turn stabs the shooter in the chest with a knife. They confess to being hired by a stooped little old man with a balding head. It's not Pam's father.
Because their last names are now the same, they are continually being mixed up as it becomes obvious that organized crime is after Pam and her baby. Three months after Tommy is born, he is strapped into his baby carrier and attached to Terry's chest. She is playing her piano while Tom and Pam are in their closing night of Sound of Music. She is so engrossed that she doesn't hear the two men who walk through her unlocked front door and shove guns into her back, "Masters, you and your baby are coming with us to a mountain hideaway. The Boss wants to dispose of you and your brat himself..."
