What can you tell us about Belinda’s background and personality? She’s a nurse from modern-day times, and is, I think, very, very independent – very much has her own purpose, has her own life, has her own narrative. I get the feeling that she’s the main character in her own story, and it just so happens to be gatecrashed by the Doctor. Now she wants to return to her own plot, but is caught up in this mad world that he sort of drags her into. It looks like their relationship is fairly… maybe “spiky” isn’t the right word, but she’s quite assertive with him. Yeah, I would say so.
