Upon his arrival at MSPD, Somers meets one of the school's cofounders, Dr. Jaye Olden. The two quickly form an exceptionally close bond, but when Somers turns sixteen years old, he must leave the school and attempt to return to a normal life.
The separation from his mentor leaves Somers feeling lost. Despite suffering the pain and prejudice that comes with being different, he begins to discover the pleasures of life outside the walls of the MSPD.
