Little redheaded Sarah Scarbuck struggles to be proud of her badge of honor: an open-heart surgery scar.
Other kids don't have an eight-inch scar. Even though Sarah's parents always remind her of her strength from her superhero scar, sometimes she wonders if she can still do everything that other kids do. As Sarah gets older, she falls in love with playing volleyball. She follows her mother to practices as she coaches, and she never misses a chance to play in the backyard with her brother. Her dream is to one day play volleyball in college and show others with badges of honor that they can still chase their dreams. Where will Sarah Scarbuck and her superhero scar go?
