About this Work
Since the world can be place that deals out difficult hands, I am aware
that some of us feel more beaten up than others. Life can feel like a
series of challenges that arise the moment you thought you were finally
able to take a deep breath. If our dark valleys and wounds were visible
to others, displaying on our skin as evidence that we need grace and
kindness, we would all fair better day by day. However, I know that's
not how life works. There are wounded souls out here that are digging
down deep, mustering up the bravery to show up daily, despite the
internal battles not many see. This, is for you - and me.
With this verbal sage I am spreading on these pages, I wish to pull out
the discomfort so that we can look it in its eye and declare 'You cannot
have me'. These wounds are not meant to be handcuffs; they are events
in your rear view mirror as you have your windshield in front of you,
showing you where you are going and meant to me. In order to walk
freely, we must place the impact of the wounds in a box we don't step
over daily. We need to rearrange the contents gently, store them away
and walk lighter, only carrying the lessons and nothing else. 'Sage for
the Wounded Soul' is a proclamation that though we have taken
several hits, we can emerge renewed, purified and soothed; encouraged
to take our power back and fly. I am rooting for you.
