The Mondo Rock and Daddy Cool frontman on being banned and why people drop their pants during “Eagle Rock”

HE’S THE ZELIG OF AUSTRALIAN rock. In 1971 Ross Wilson’s band Daddy Cool released what was then the biggest selling local album of all time in Daddy Who? Daddy Cool. That was overtaken by Skyhooks’ Living in the 70’s, which he produced. And that was usurped by John Farnham’s Whispering Jack, which contained “A Touch of Paradise”, a song he co-wrote. Then there’s Mondo Rock, his Eighties group that is being celebrated with The Complete Anthology and the reissue of their catalogue.
