VARIETY MAKES ROMAIN DUMAS A SPECIALIST.

ROMAIN DUMAS IS the fastest driver to ascend Pikes Peak, a hill climb he’s won five times, including this past summer in a Ford F-150-ish–bodied EV. Late last year he set an altitude record behind the wheel of a modified Porsche 911. He’s the fastest driver to lap the Nürburgring Nordschleife in an EV. He has also won twice overall at Le Mans, competed in multiple WRC events, and run in the Dakar Rally eight times. Dumas’s résumé makes him a rare thing in the modern racing world: a true generalist. Paradoxically, he’s a specialist in his own right, the racer to call for unique and extreme efforts.
