RADIAL ENGINES ARE famously poorly suited for cars. They’re too tall, to name but one downside. With only three cylinders, however, and a few tricks to keep the dimensions tight, Bespoke Engineering’s power-dense Radial Motion REO3 will fit in a variety of vehicles for land, sea, or air. Perhaps more compelling is that the REO3 is made to live forever. Internals are easy to access thanks to the simple design, sourcing off-the-shelf components is painless, and everything else can be machined. “This was designed by engineers for people who love engines,” says Nick Mebberson, managing director at Bespoke Engineering. “It’s not the cheapest engine, because it’s not about that, but it’s easy to work on, and it makes sense.” The engine itself starts at $25,000, and the radiators and other hardware required…
