Mr Armani has always known that a suit is every stylish woman’s secret weapon. Back in the 1980s, the arrival of the iconic Emporio Armani loose-fit silhouette typified an era of female empowerment. The youthful, easygoing androgyny of those trademark soft-shoulder jackets, pleat-front slouchy trousers and smart waistcoats offered women a one-stop, head-to-toe dressing solution that looked polished and professional while feeling comfortable and relaxed.
