WHY CROSS THE CHANNEL FOR SUN AND SEA WHEN SOME OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL BEACHES ARE RIGHT HERE ON HOME SHORES?

‘All you can see is the glorious, unspoilt, golden beach’ CHALET SAUNTON, Saunton Sands, Devon ‘It’s not what’s inside but what’s outside that counts’, said no one ever – unless they were staying at Chalet Saunton in Devon. That’s not to say that the interiors of this ‘aparthotel’ aren’t divine, but when the view’s this good, you’re hardly looking (NB. I wasn’t sure what an ‘aparthotel’ was either but, in this case, it’s apparently a block of very chic self-catered holiday apartments, complete with fluffy towels and artisan welcome baskets). This very new build stands proudly atop Saunton Sands, among a few other holiday homes and a handsome Art Deco hotel. All you can really see, though, is the glorious stretch of unspoilt golden beach in front of you, the gentle waves…
